Durvashtami

Durvashtami Puja or Doorvashtami Vrata is observed on the eighth day of Shukla Paksha during Avani masam. Durvashtami Puja 2010 date is 15 September. Durvashtami festival is dedicated to Goddess Gauri and Lord Ganesh. On Durvastami day, devotees worship Lord Ganesh and Gauri with Durva grass blades (Garika or Darbha).

Vinayaka / Ganesh Chaturthi

Vinayaka Chaturthi Story:

It is the story of God with Elephant Head, Vinakaya Charturthi or Ganesh Charturthi. According to Hindu mythology, elephant-headed Ganesh is the son of Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati or Gauri.
